I did not see any John Brittain in any of the early records, I saw a abraham nathaniel and richard in the monmouth records. What is the source for them being the parents? Did they live in Monmouth? I see the source on Ruth’s page is a person who emailed her, not a document. I would not take this info as fact but as a possible lead to investigate.

Here is a possible answer to the question: 60. Ezekiel W. Leming (Isaac22, William5, John2, John1) was born on 15 Sep 1776 in New Jersey, died on 30 May 1849 in Newberry, Clermont Co., Ohio and was buried in Mulberry Cemetery, Newberry, Clermont Co., Ohio.

Ezekiel married Lucy Brittain 58, daughter of John Brittain and Catherine, before 1800 in New Jersey.
